Eric "Delko" Delektorsky is a Crime Scene Investigator working for the Miami-Dade Crime Lab.He is a Level 3 CSI, specializing in fingerprint and drug identification. Now, you truly know the characters getting involved." Stirring romance into a criminal procedural, which tend to share little DNA, adds a welcomed fresh angle to a seventh-season hit (No.15, with 13.1 million viewers) whose core remains unchanged: Horatio and his team using forensics to catch bad guys."I think it's easy with a procedural to think people don't have that much arc to their character, but I'm hoping that [the audience will see] that we do." The flashback also provides the introduction of new cast member Eddie Cibrian. "It turns out they met on Calleigh's first day at the Miami Dade Police Department," Procter says. So they have this old, established friendship at this point, and I think their characters are very easy with one another.
Delko has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Miami, where he played right field for the baseball team (and is a former college classmate of wildlife conservationist Jeff Corwin) and is fluent in Spanish.
Eric is also the team's underwater recovery expert.
While trying to rescue a woman kidnapped by escapee Clavo Cruz, Delko was critically wounded by one of Cruz's henchmen. Delko left the team temporarily in season eight but returned to the series temporarily in Delko for the Defense, when he consulted a defense lawyer in a murder case. He takes things personally, especially cases which he feels strongly about.
While the exact nature of these issues is not entirely shown, it appears that self-control may have something to do with it.
He also will occasionally get angry, but still maintains his caring nature when a situation calls for it.
